There really hasn't been much Chrono Trigger music editing done that I'm aware of, although FFVI uses the same sound driver and there's apparently been a ton of custom FFVI music made. It's a pretty obvious idea once you think of it, but apparently nobody bothered to try it until you and I both decided to try it this year. I explained my process in the Chrono Compendium thread, but to reiterate I basically used samples ripped from the game to transcribe it by ear in a tracker program, then used that as a reference to write the new song data by hand in a hex editor. I was just as surprised to see yours pop up.
Wow?! Didn't expect this at all, I guess I have to take my words back about no one trying to recreate the intro
